this past week has been a flurry of activity – and nope, i don’t pertain to activities involved in my present job.
i spoke w/ my mentor last week about my concerns on the job. just when he was sorta able to convince me already about the prospects of staying, after which i prayed and said to the Lord, “Lord, if You want me to stay, I will. if You want me to go, I will. Whatever You want, Lord” within 24hours, 4 different firms called me up for interviews. all interviews are done now. i already have offers from 2 firms and am awaiting the results of the two others, which are at present probably evaluating samples of my written work and checking out my transcript. i am very much excited as to what God will allow to unfold.
the day after i got those calls, through my quiet time, i received this word from Joshua 1:3: “I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. ” amen! ang tanong ko tuloy in relation to my job hunt: does that mean that i will be accepted in all firms? naku, sana! but there are two particular firms that i’m praying for actually.
the scripture text in verses 6-9 went on to say:
“Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
so it seems that God is telling me :
1. to be strong
2. to be very courageous
3. to meditate on His word day and night
4. make His word my bukambibig (let it not depart from my mouth)
5. do everything in His law, as He commanded
in turn His promises, that won’t let go of me are:
1. His presence (He will be with me where ever I go) – and really, that’s all I need!
2. prosperity and success
3. an inheritance (i believe that the legal profession is an “inheritance” from daddy; the accounting profession from daddygran)
honestly, i’m pretty nervous about the firm that i like best. i feel that i could have wowed them more during the interview. but i just lift it up to the Lord. in fact, as i was typing the first sentences of this paragraph, these verses came to mind:
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
So from all these, it seems that God is telling me to rejoice, be gentle and pray about my requests (sana matanggap ako Lord sa…) in praise and thanksgiving, to be strong and courageous and obey His word to not be anxious. i claim His peace which transcends all human understanding. i thank Him for His presence…He is near…and really, that’s all i need. in Jesus’ name, i shall not just get by, but success and prosperity shall be at hand.
amen. Lord, I trust in You alone. may Your will be done. 🙂
